NO 9, 11 AND 13 GLADESIDE, CROYDON

Bell Associates are delighted to share that the planning appeal for No 9, 11 and 13 Gladeside, Croydon was upheld, and planning permission subsequently granted for the demolition of 3 No existing dwellings and the erection of 7 No two storey dwelling houses with accommodation in the roof space. The scheme also allows for 11 No car parking spaces, cycle and refuse storage. These houses will provide good size, quality family homes, contributing to the housing targets within the Croydon borough.

HIDDEN HEARING – TESCO READING CONCESSION

Bell Associates recently assisted Hidden Hearing in delivering their first concession in partnership with Tesco Extra Reading. Working closely with the Hidden Hearing’s Estates team, we assisted in adapting their general branch concept into a smaller setting appropriate for a supermarket environment. This involved sourcing a prefabricated acoustic pod suitable for their hearing tests.  We think the result looks great; we wish them every success in their new partnership.

HIDDEN HEARING – NATIONAL RETAIL ROLLOUT PROGRAMME

Bell Associates have been working with Hidden Hearing, a national audiologist and hearing aid retailer since 2019 to update, expand and refurbish their nationwide estate and bring it further into alignment with their global partners.  Bell Associates work as project managers and lead designers on the roll out programme, working alongside Hidden Hearing’s Estates team and managing multiple contractors and suppliers.

Work on the estate is ongoing and we look forward to helping deliver new Hidden Hearing branches in the coming years. To date we have undertaken over 40 refurbishments across England and Scotland which has included 6 new acquisition sites. The level of refurbishment varies depending on the needs of the business from a complete strip out and remodelling of the internal layout to a light refresh including new flooring, decorations, lighting and signage. The transformation across every branch has been fantastic, the branches have been opened up to provide a brighter more welcoming environment, more aligned with the modern, global branding, and improving the customer experience.

FLAT DEVELOPMENT – DANIEL SIMPSON HOUSE, SHIRLEY, CROYDON

Bell Associates recently revisited the completed Daniel Simpson House, at 37 Woodmere Avenue, Shirley, Croydon.

The site was previously occupied by a single bungalow before we obtained planning permission to turn it into a modern 8 flat development. The construction was completed in March 2022 by McAllister Developments Ltd.

Located on a corner plot the site posed many challenges but after careful planning and consideration we were able to obtain permission for a two-storey building that suits the context in which it is situated. The foliage and green areas have started to establish themselves fully now providing an attractive, high-grade development.

CARE UK – MILL VIEW, EAST GRINSTEAD: GROUND FLOOR REFURBISHMENT

Bell Associates were appointed by Care UK to redesign the ground floor of their existing care home in East Grinstead, West Sussex to provide a destination for its residents to enjoy with friends and family. This refurbishment included a new reception area, hair salon, café, lounge area, cinema and pub/bar. This was a challenging site due to the existing structure and awkward layout of the building, but we managed to open up the previously under-utilised space as much as possible to provide a welcoming environment and a revitalised communal and social space for all to enjoy.
